I have been a dedicated patchworker for over 30 years and a closet artist for even longer. I have an identical twin Keryn, and after 26 years living apart, we are finally in the same town again. We now own a Gammill Statler longarm and have started quilting for others. We have designed and sold continuous quilting patterns for over 10 years.
I try to paint when I can, particularly animals, but life is getting busier and busier. At least I'm never bored!
I cringe when I see quilters toss ALL their scraps in the garbage - even the big ones. I read something on a blog once - I think it was Bonnie Hunter's "Quiltville" - that has stayed with me ever since. "You paid the same amount of money for your scraps as you did for the yardage on your shelves." Not the exact words, but you know what I mean. I always struggle with how small a scrap do I want to keep. Right now I toss anything smaller than 1 1/2" square, but I toss them into a bag to give to a friend who likes to make crumb quilts.
You have accomplished a lot lately! I love that "Duck's Foot in the Mud" block too. I've found several similar blocks that I like too, but "Bear's Paw" is the only one I can think of at the moment.

I don't even know what Google Reader is - or was - or bloglovin for that matter, so I guess I don't know what I'm missing LOL!
I'm liking your Cross blocks, especially in the madder - and looking forward to see how you end up putting them together.
