If you look at applewood farms - Beth comes up with really nice settings you could try with your blocks.Shelinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09870112367076954109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1166703119697116682006-12-21T22:41:00.000+10:302006-12-21T22:41:00.000+10:30Now please don't feel guilty about those orphan bl...Now please don't feel guilty about those orphan blocks- they are just stored treasure- like a sound investment! They are all lovely! And I laughed over your "pudgy" hand comment! All hands look pudgy in pics! Makes you appreciate those hand models, eh? People send me all kinds of things, and half the fun is seeing what can go together from different people, or what I can add to make something really fun. You have a lot of different blocks there, so you could have the same kind of deal. =)Susan https://www.blogger.com/profile/09159163720029661287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1164944765459026682006-12-01T14:16:00.000+10:302006-12-01T14:16:00.000+10:30If you put all those "uninspiring" orphan blocks t...If you put all those "uninspiring" orphan blocks together, they will sing! You shouldn't feel any quilt about the random blocks in your drawer. Consider them experiments, a way to test out different color combinations, a new technique or a means of testing a patttern. In the end, they might make some fun scrappy sampler quilts, but even if they don't, thats okay too.Tracey in CThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01172273610231927352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1164728523016159672006-11-29T02:12:00.000+10:302006-11-29T02:12:00.000+10:30I cannot wait to see a quilt made from all these b...I cannot wait to see a quilt made from all these blocksLucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07993337841578012623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1164609531634584512006-11-27T17:08:00.000+10:302006-11-27T17:08:00.000+10:30I am glad you posted again. Your sewing room looks terrific, and the fabric your sister gave you is perfect for those blocks you made! Isn't it fun to get excited about an old project as you watch it blossom with renewed life?MARCIEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01239774105939045673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1164375895106103182006-11-25T00:14:00.000+10:302006-11-25T00:14:00.000+10:30if adding to the drawer causes guilt start a shelf...if adding to the drawer causes guilt start a shelf for new orphan blocks! :-) More seriously why not just sew a bunch of the orphans together, get them out of the drawer and make a couple of charity quilts, then its back to business as usual...quiltpixiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03027878871572340928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1164364018008026232006-11-24T20:56:00.000+10:302006-11-24T20:56:00.000+10:30There are some great blocks there! Sometimes the urge to sew something new is so strong, but just doing a single block might do the trick instead of cutting out a whole quilt top (like eating one piece of chocolate instead of the whole block LOL). You could make them up into charity quilts, but it would be nice to leave some of the blocks for another generation to put together :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20394496.post-1164346447199398292006-11-24T16:04:00.000+10:302006-11-24T16:04:00.000+10:30But there is so fun making blocks LOL I love to h...But there is so fun making blocks LOL I love to handstitch and most of the blocks I stitch by hand.
